In Tekken 8, the ranked system has been a major point of contention for some time now, especially when Street Fighter, one of our biggest competitors in the space has a very practical system that effectively places players of equal skill in front of each other. This creates a more rewarding environment and has likely kept both high level players and intermediate players interested in Street Fighter 6 despite its many drawbacks.
TLDR: A new HUD mod brings real time MR data into the game, and functions seamlessly with Ranked Sessions! Unofficial Preview
Overview & Previews
How It Works: Wavu Wank runs its own version of Glicko-2 over every ranked battle in Tekken 8. Unlike Tekken Prowess, which inflates with every side character you level, Glicko-2 works out an independent rating per character by weighing your results against the skill of the people you actually beat. The mod reads those ratings and predicts your change the instant a match ends, then reconciles against Wavu as the real number lands. So the badge moves at the KO, not three minutes later, and it corrects itself forward if the prediction was off by a point or two.
The badge is for God of Destruction and above. Below that rank it stays hidden, because that is the population Wavu's shared feed covers. The app itself still shows your full ratings list at any rank.
Street Fighter uses Master Rate & I didn't want to directly take from them. I decided to go with Mu Rating, since it's the foundational aspect of what traditional Mean Skill Estimation comes from. It's also perfect, because Wavu Wank uses Mu, or μ, to list their scores. For the full rundown on everything, feel free to check out Github!
Accounts: Up to five accounts, as a list or as fighter cards. Alts, or a rival you want to keep an eye on. It follows whichever Steam account is signed in to Tekken, so switching needs nothing from you.
Ratings List: Every character Wavu has a rating for, in Wavu's own groups. Drag the window wider and σ², games played and the last played date appear. A row flashes as its rating changes, so a match that just landed is easy to spot.
Mini Pages: Four pages under the logo that turn on their own. Your last twenty battles as a line, how far you are from the next hundred MR and roughly how many wins that is, and the session so far. Hovering stops the clock so you can read one.
Feed & Achievements: Every ranked match, newest first, with the opponent, both characters, the change and the MR it left you on. Awards drop into the same timeline in the place in the day they happened.
Achievements: 75 Achievements across milestones, matches, streaks, daily streaks, sessions and roster progress, each one Common through Legendary. Beat someone far above you and you get the biggest one that fits rather than five cards at once.
Settings: Auto hide, start with Windows, notifications over the game, and Headless Mode for people who want it running with nothing on screen. Troubleshooting has a one click diagnostics report to paste into a support ticket.
Online Safe
The in game part is a HUD mod. It draws a number next to your rank and nothing else. No hitboxes, no frame data, no collision, no stage geometry, no animation edits, no gameplay values of any kind. The helper is a small Windows app that sits outside the game. It reads public ratings from Wavu Wank and writes one save file of its own that the badge reads. It never touches Tekken's online API, it never sends anything anywhere, and it never writes to your Tekken saves.

Installation
- Two pieces: the mod that draws the badge, and the helper that feeds it. You need both. Grab them from Releases, or from download/: trhmu-1.0.0.zip is the helper, TrueProwessMuRating-1.0.0.zip is the mod.
TRHMM, the easy way. Drag the zip straight onto the TRHMM window. It unpacks into its own mod folder for you. Switch it on in the list and you are done. Get TRHMM
By hand. Extract the archive and drop the .pak, .ucas and .utoc into:
TEKKEN 8\Polaris\Content\Paks\Mods
If you use a mod manager, import the folder as normal.
The helper. Unzip anywhere and run trhmu.exe. No installer. It isn't code signed yet, so Windows shows a blue warning the first time: More info, then Run anyway.
Connect. Enter your Tekken ID, the code the game's Replay menu shows (4Rh7-ai3D-3G2a). It pairs to the Steam account you're signed in with and connects by itself from then on.
Play. The helper opens with Tekken, and your MR sits beside your rank.
Support The Project
More players on the leaderboard means more server cost, and I would like to keep shipping features rather than cutting them. If you get something out of tracking your true character skill and want to help keep the database fast and the updates coming, the Ko-fi is here: https://ko-fi.com/trh
If you're a mod enjoyer, I also have a Patreon as well! Feel free to become a member there OR support the Ko-fi. (Don't do both lol)
Every rating in this project comes from Wavu Wank, built and run by
6weetbix. None of this exists without that site. It rates every ranked battle in Tekken 8 and publishes the result for free. Go and thank him please!
The Mu Rating Beta
This shipped as a beta first, and the people who ran it are the reason 1.0.0 is worth installing. Every fix in 0.1.1 and half of what went into 1.0.0 came from players reporting things I would never have caught on my own computer lol! You ran my lil app and because you wanted the game to be better, tested it in real ranked sets, and wrote up what broke instead of just uninstalling. Thank you, genuinely. Keep it coming, the reports are what make the next versions even better!

Versions
1.0.0 September 25, 2026. First full release. Added an update check that tells you when a new version is out. Fixed a second notification going unseen, Full Roster and Well Rounded becoming unearnable, Headless Mode overwriting your auto connect setting, the badge's save file being written by two things at once, and one unrated low rank battle holding up the shared feed for everyone.
0.1.1 September 19, 2026. Fixed notifications taking focus away from Tekken, and the helper opening itself over a live match.
0.1.0 September 17, 2026. First beta. MR on the badge, the change after each fight, both sides in the replay menu, accounts, sessions, the feed and 75 achievements.
If you made it to the very end of this, you're goated! TEKKENRESOURCEHUB.COM - more cool stuff is on the way!
